Plans and limits
The four monthly limits on every SerpPal plan, what counts toward each one, when they reset, and what happens when you run out of analyses or AI words.
Every SerpPal plan has a few monthly limits. This page explains what each one measures, what uses it up and what happens when it runs out. For the current plans and prices, see /pricing. Prices and limits are set by SerpPal and can change, so the pricing page is always the source of truth.
The four limits
| Limit | What it counts | Where you see it |
|---|---|---|
| Keyword analyses | Each keyword you analyze, from the dashboard, a project page, the Content Planner or the editor. | Dashboard card, sidebar plan box, Account page |
| AI words | Words the AI writes for you, in every AI tool. | Dashboard card, sidebar plan box, Account page |
| Keyword plans | Each search in the Content Planner. | Content Planner, Account page |
| Media storage | The total size of images and videos you upload for your posts. | Publishing page and media library |
Some plans show Unlimited for a limit. Then there is no cap for that item.
When limits reset
Analyses, AI words and keyword plans reset on the 1st of every month (UTC). Unused amounts do not carry over.
Media storage is not monthly. It is the space your files take up right now, so it frees up when you delete files.
What uses an analysis
- Analyzing a keyword: one analysis per keyword. Ten keywords at once use ten.
- Run the analysis again in the editor (fresh Google results): one analysis.
- Try again after a failed analysis: one analysis, refunded if it fails again.
- An analysis that is answered from the cache ("Ready, from cache") still uses one analysis.
These do not use an analysis:
- An analysis that fails. It is refunded automatically.
- Choosing other competitors and clicking Rebuild in the editor. See Choosing competitors.
- Rank checks, the ranking chance check and the plagiarism check.
What uses AI words
AI words are counted from what the AI writes back, not from what you paste in. Some examples:
- Drafts, outlines, rewrites and meta descriptions in the editor.
- AI Chat, templates, the essay writer, the summarizer, the humanizer, the paraphraser and the study tools. A few checking tools count only part of their output.
- Bulk writing: about 2,000 to 3,000 AI words per article, depending on the target length.
- Learn from my site in the brand kit: 400 AI words.
- An AI visibility check: 300 AI words for each AI model it asks.
If you stop an AI request halfway, only the words written so far are counted.
What happens when you run out
You can keep using everything that does not need the limit you hit. Your articles, projects and published posts are never removed.
| You run out of | What you see | What still works |
|---|---|---|
| Analyses | "Your Pro plan includes 100 analyses per month and you have 0 left." or "No analyses left on your plan this month" | Writing, scoring, publishing and everything in existing analyses |
| AI words | "You have used all 100,000 AI words on your plan this month" | Writing by hand, the score, analyses, publishing |
| Keyword plans | "Your Pro plan includes 50 keyword plans per month" | Old plans in the planner history, analyzing keywords |
| Media storage | "Your media storage is full. Delete some files or upgrade your plan." | Publishing posts that use files you already uploaded |
The numbers in the messages are your own plan's numbers.
The AI word check happens when a request starts. A long request that is already running finishes, so you can end the month slightly over your AI word limit.
When you analyze several keywords at once, SerpPal checks that all of them fit. If you have 3 analyses left and send 5 keywords, nothing starts and you see how many you have left.
Who pays for team work
Usage counts on the account of the person who does the work. If you add an editor to your project and they analyze a keyword or use AI there, it uses their plan, not yours. See Team members.

- Upgrade your plan on Plan and billing. The new limits apply right away. See Change, renew or cancel.

Common questions
I deleted an analysis. Do I get it back? No. Deleting removes the article but does not refund the analysis.
Does analyzing the same keyword again use another analysis? Yes, each analysis counts, even when the result comes from the cache.
Do my limits reset on my billing date? No. Usage limits reset on the 1st of each month for everyone, whatever day you started paying.
