How are words counted?
A word is any run of letters or numbers, with apostrophes and hyphens kept inside it, so "don't" and "well-known" count as one word each. Punctuation and symbols on their own are not counted.
How is reading time worked out?
At 238 words a minute, the average silent reading speed of adults. Speaking time uses 150 words a minute, a comfortable pace for a talk or a video.
Does it work in other languages?
Yes, for any language that separates words with spaces. The keyword list leaves out common English words only.
Is my text saved?
