What is keyword density?
How much of your text a word or phrase makes up: the number of times it appears, times the number of words in it, divided by the words in the whole text.
What is a good keyword density?
There is no magic number. Most pages that rank use their main keyword in about 0.5% to 2.5% of the text. Far above that the text starts to read as stuffed, which helps neither readers nor rankings.
Why leave out stop words?
Words like "the", "and" and "of" are the most common in any text and say nothing about its topic. Leaving them out shows the words that do.
